Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Malta Convoy. DESCRIPTION: Malta is under constant bombardment from the air situated as it is some sixty miles from Sicily. The merchant ships with vital supplies, with a Royal Navy escort, despite some losses make it through. SHOTLIST: Shot of White Ensign flying from mast-head. Destroyers throw a smoke-screen. Cruiser ploughing through the sea. Bombs drop in sea around ship, no enemy planes are seen as yet. Various shots of guns firing. (Cruisers) Night shots of guns firing (AA & Pom-poms). Cruiser firing at enemy plane. The sky is filled with shell fire. Shot of a merchant ship. Bombs drop near cruiser. Shot of plane which appears to be crashing into sea. Shot of sailors going to shore for leave in a launch. Shot of the man who got the convoy through. Admiral Vian.
