MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Explosion at Elephant and Castle (Gurney Street). DESCRIPTION: A German bomb which had been lying for a year in Gurney Street, Elephant & Castle exploded causing the death of twenty people, injuring fifty and leaving more than a hundred homeless. SHOTLIST: General views of the wreckage and damage done in this district by a delayed action bomb.
