- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Lexington Launched. DESCRIPTION: American launches the new aircraft carrier "Lexington" to replace its namesake who was sunk at the Battle of the Coral Sea. SHOTLIST: MS of Lexington, with crowds standing around. Sailors looking at photos of the Aircraft Carrier "Lexington" which was sunk by the Japs. Pan shot of some of the crew. General shot of stand showing Mrs Theodore Robinson, addressing crowd, she has bottle in hand, christens it the "Lexington". Lexington going down runway - VG. CU of Lexington before she takes water. This commences with library material of the old "Lexington" burning & in sinking condition.
