- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: China Via Tibet. DESCRIPTION: Movietone’s Alec Tozer travelled partly on pony and partly on foot with the supply train into China. The route started at Sikkim passing through the mountains and villages of Tibet into China. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS Elevated shot of mule train passing over mountains. Maps of Bengal, Tibet & Chungking. Town of Kalimpong, various shots of Tibetans preparing (loading) mules with sheep’s wool. CU Tibetan tying rope by using his mouth. Mule train on way, approaching mountains, trekking across mountains, trekking across mountains, shots of mules feet shows snow is very deep, various elevated shots of mules winding their way, over the Himalayas. Shot of train passing through the Monsoons. Top of one of the peaks prayer flags have been set up. Various shots of train passing through very attractive & picturesque country, cross rivers. Shot of Tibetan villagers by their home. Another at the prayer wheel, another getting water from the river Mo Chu. Back in the Himalayas shows a shot of dead mule lying under a rhododendron bush. Yaks making way along river bank. Passing through village of Yantung, various scenes. CU Tibetan beauty standing by bowl of flowers. Muleteers buying cigarettes. Train continuing its journey onto Szechwan Province.
