- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Pacific War News. DESCRIPTION: China’s manpower is busy building aircraft and airfields urgently needed for the war against Japan. Equipment and supplies are arriving in the Pacific area to continue the recapture of such places as Salamaua and Lae in New Guinea. SHOTLIST: Cut story - China Builds Aerodrome. Various shots of coolies working of fields (very primitive). Dozens of coolies pulling roller over ground. Plane taking off from finished aerodrome into camera. Supplies of Transport to MacArthur. Various shots of quays shows them packed with all types of transport, bombs lying on ground, more transport, army van etc. GS of Mitchell on quayside. Lines of Kittyhawks. Fortress bomb Salamaua. Aerial shots of (LS) of Flying Fortresses in formation. Bombs leave plane, & registering hits. Aerial shots of Liberators in flight. Bombs exploding on coastline. The explosions of the above are very good.
