- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Evacuation - a War Contribution. DESCRIPTION: In the South West of England, several thousand people have had to evacuate their homes, because the area has been handed over to the United States Army for the purpose of invasion rehearsals. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Travelling shot through village which is to be evacuated. Civilian loading their belongings onto van, Army officer looks on. Ministry of Food notice pasted on wall. Panning shot of Jeep through village. Various transport through village. Several CUs of local inhabitants saying what they think about the evacuation. Transport leaving village. This is the evacuation of a village in South West England. The Americans are to take it over for troops and training for D-Day landings. There are some interviews with villagers.
