Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Great Blitz on Cassino. DESCRIPTION: The attack on Cassino was opened by several waves of medium bombers. The heavy bombers followed up and something like 2,500 tons of bombs was dropped on the target. After the bombing the artillery went into action and finally the infantry went forward to assault the town. SHOTLIST: Cut story - GV Cassino with Monastery & Castle Hill in background. (Wyand’s). Various aerial shots of Cassino. (RAF). GV Cassino with Monastery background. (Wyand’s). Aerial shot of Marauders in formation. (RAF).
