MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Nearing Our Greatest Effort Churchill with Paratroops. DESCRIPTION: The Prime Minister recently made a speech on "nearing our greatest effort". Mr Churchill has inspected American paratroops who are prepared for the Second Front. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Mr Churchill inspects British & American Paratroops, various shots. CU Churchill in bowler hat. USAAF - Hundreds of paratroops floating to earth. C47s overhead (excellent material). Churchill (back view) watches men float to earth, various shots. USAAF - Paratroops walk to planes C47s taking off & in formation flight. Interior of one of the planes, shows Yankees handed cigarettes & smoking. CU jump master with half cigar in his mouth, Paratroops stand up & hook up. CU jump master jumping out of plane closely followed by paratroops. CU jump master floating to earth (a camera is strapped to his chest which records the above). Various shots of paratroops jumping from plane. Paratroops landing all over landscape. GV of equipment being dropped from planes & floating to earth. Several paratroops touching down. Various mass shots of paratroops floating to earth.
