Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Italy - Alexander’s Contribution. DESCRIPTION: The men of the Fifth Army soon made themselves at home in Rome. General Clark and General Alexander reviewed the troops and afterwards the C in C addressed the men on the significance of the Italian campaign. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Seaforth Highlanders march along street into camera, led by pipers, in background Colosseum. Various shots of British troops in shorts & tin helmets marching through streets. Seaforths marching through streets, background St Peter’s. Various shots of Seaforth pipers marching round St Peter’s Square. CU Drummer. Cut-ins crowds applauding etc. Couple of Italian girls inspect Scotsmans’ kilts, then not being able to resist the temptation, lift kilts to investigate further, crowds stand round. GS Alexander & Clark inspecting American troops. CU Alexander addressing troops on fall of Rome & the part they played in the Second Front Invasion.
