- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Blighty Leave. DESCRIPTION: Units of the British Second Army held a ballot to decide who would go on home leave. At the London station there was a large crowd to cheer the men, on the first official leave since D-Day. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS British troops in field attend ballot in Holland. Various of troops jumping with joy etc. as their names are called out for leave. Various of boarding lorries, joining up with other units going on leave. Packing their belongings, also taking few souvenirs. British troops board ship, band on quay plays. Various of troops looking over rails of ship, also silhouettes of same. Fade to signs at Victoria Station, indicating where troops have to go for Euston, Paddington etc. Train draws in (at night) station troops alight, crowds cheering, walking through station (in sound), cut-ins of crowds cheering. Troops board buses outside station.
