- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King in Channel Islands. DESCRIPTION: Their Majesties landed at Albert Pier, St Helier, Jersey to begin their tour of the Channel Islands. After touring Jersey they flew to the neighbouring island of Guernsey where they received an equally enthusiastic welcome. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. "Jamaica" cruiser. On board "Jamaica" shots of King & Queen on deck, with Captain Hughes Haslet. Queen followed by King board launch, King comes ashore at Albert Pier. Crowds seated on wall of pier cheer. Greeted by Lt General Kirkman. Bailiff escorts Royal Party. K&Q drive through cheering crowds, lined with troops. GS Dakota plane, engine running. King & Queen enter, (first time Queen of England has flown), plane takes off. Aerial shots of Islands. Plane lands at Guernsey, elevated shot of officials of island saluting as King alights from plane, received by Bailiff Mr Victor Carey. At Candie Park Queen receives three bouquets from three small girls. Bailiff of Guernsey reads Loyal Address, to which the King replies (silent). K introduced to Dame of Sark.
