Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Continental Parades. DESCRIPTION: Major-General Whitfield took the salute at the victory parade in Trieste. An open air service had preceded the parade and was attended by units of the Royal Navy and the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. At Vienna meeting of the Allies General McCreery, Marshal Koniev, General Mark Clark and Lieutenant-General Methovard took the salute at the march past. In Berlin the Massed Pipe Band of the 52nd Lowland Division marched and played in the Kaiserdamm. SHOTLIST: KS Services parades in Main Square at Trieste. Crowds watch. Army, Navy and Air Force were present at open air service. March past led by Royal Marine band, followed by sailors in white uniforms. A Scotch Pipe Band leads the soldiers. Major General Whitfield took the salute of same. In VIENNA, shots of the Allied Chiefs, including General McCreery, Marshal Koniev, General Mark Clark and Lieutenant General Methovard, walk along road in group. Elevated views of march past. Four Commanders carry out an inspection together. BERLIN - Various shots of parade. Massed Pipe Bands marching along street, look down shot of parade. Crowds watching and clapping. Ruins in background. March past camera. All men wear kilts and are playing pipes.
