- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The "Vampire" - Jet-Propelled Fighter. DESCRIPTION: Britain’s latest fighter is the jet-propelled ‘Vampire’. Test Pilot Geoffrey de Havilland puts it through it’s paces over Hatfield. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS Rear shot of plane. Geoffrey de Havilland climbs into cockpit. Various angle shots of plane on ground, SCU and CU of jet outlet, and starting up, gas expulsion burns the grass, plane taxies and takes off. Aerial shot of plane over London. Plane into camera, banking. Cut-ins of Brazilian Government Mission watching demonstration. Plane diving low over aerodrome, climbing; travelling very fast, get an impression of the speed by backgrounds of clouds and hangars. Aerial shots of plane peeling off. Various shots of plane’s manoeuvrability. Coming into land, touching down, and taxiing to end.
