- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: First Post-War Easter in England. DESCRIPTION: Fine weather meant the beaches around the country were crowded and so were the river banks. The King and Princess Elizabeth attended the race meeting at Hurst Park, the Princess having celebrated her 20th birthday during the holiday. SHOTLIST: KS Aerial - crowded promenade and beach - LIBRARY. London stations crowded with people. Queues at stations, crowds pass barrier onto platform. GV three engines starting their journey. CU sign "Golden Arrow" en route. GV "Golden Arrow" train at platform. GV Golden Arrow out of station & MS interior of train. GV carriage. MS buffet car. At New Brighton - Elevated crowds off ferry. Crowded beach. Crowds enjoy themselves at fun air. Windsor - Aerial shows castle and town etc. Hurst Park - Crowds in fore, finish of race in background. King in civilian clothes and Princess Elizabeth walk into camera. GV grandstand LS elevated shot of crowds at races. River Thames at Richmond - Crowds on towpath, few boats on river. Civilians seated at tea tables. Seated on deck-chairs, along river bank. Brighton - Aerial front shows beach and sea, including piers. People walk along seafront. GV not overcrowded beach. SCU motor boat people board. Child paddling in sea. Child eating ice cream. GVs people on beach basking in sun, couple in deck-chairs asleep.
