MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HMS Vanguard Leaves Birthplace. DESCRIPTION: The Navy’s latest battleship leaves her fitting out yard on the Clyde. She made her way slowly down river on her way to the sea. SHOTLIST: KS Tilt down of bows. LIBRARY: Princess Elizabeth and Admiral Cunningham stand on launching platform. Princess say May God bless her. CU side of battleship as it runs down slipway. Tilt down of bows. GV Vanguard in River Clyde leaving for trials. Various angle shots of her passing along river pulled by tugs. Few people on banks watch ship pass. Pan of ship’s deck and name Vanguard. Various aerial shots of her on her way to sea, GVs etc. and aerial of her with liner Queen Elizabeth in background being repainted.
