MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Windsor-London Marathon. DESCRIPTION: The Windsor to Chiswick Marathon was started by the King. It was won in a time of 2 hours 38 minutes by HS Oliver. SHOTLIST: KS Competitors running. The King alights from car. Shot of runners, King speaking to them (silent). King starts the race. Into camera runners out of Windsor Castle grounds, castle in background. Runners cross Eton Bridge. Past Eton College seen in background and through village of Iver. Round roundabout at West Drayton, HS Oliver (No 25) in front. Past Rising Sun at Heston, refreshments handed to them as they pass. Trucking shot of SF Jones (No 18) and CH Ballard (No 47) who finished 2nd & 3rd respectively. Along Great West Road, through Kew, Kew Bridge in background. Entering Chiswick Stadium, crowds line last _ mile, cheer Oliver as he breaks cord to win. SCU Oliver and his wife after race.
