MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: FA Cup - Sixth Round - Charlton V Preston North End. DESCRIPTION: CHARLTON V PRESTON - Snow had to be cleared from the pitch at the Valley and the ground was more like a skating rink. Charlton were the victors by two goals to one. SHOTLIST: KS German prisoners clearing snow and ice from terraces of football ground, using pick-axe, shovelling etc. CU POW on prisoner’s back. GV of the above. Elevated LS of kick off by Charlton. Various shots of play Charlton attacking, players skating and slipping about. Couple of players injured, lying on pitch. Charlton attack (shot from behind goal - Preston) Duffy lobs ball over head of Fairbrother, Preston goalie, ball rolls into net and camera. Cut-ins of crowds cheering. Preston attack hard, various shots around Charlton goal. Crowds cheering. CU football supporter in fancy dress. Fairbrother picks up Scottie dog mascot from goalmouth. Walking down to other goal with mascot under his arm. GV crowd very good shot. Various shot of Charlton attacking and play around Preston goal Revell returns ball to Hurst who heads same into net, much dispute over goal.
