- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: TUC Meeting at Southport. DESCRIPTION: Ernest Bevin addresses the Trades Union Congress. SHOTLIST: KS Crowds outside Conference Hall. Bevin alights from car. CU Bevin with Lord Dukeston. Elevated pan of audience (members) inside hall. MS, SCU and SV of Bevin addressing the meeting, speaks of it is going to be very hard to maintain the 1938 standard for the next two years. Also to be able to speak to anybody and feel on the same level - or words to that effect. He also spoke about producing commodities from a ton of coal. Cut-ins of audience listening also applauding.
