- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Manchester United Win Cup. (Manchester United V Blackpool - 4-2). DESCRIPTION: Despite leading 2-1 at half time Blackpool lose the FA Cup to Manchester United. SHOTLIST: KS CU FA Cup. Elevated crowds out of camera along towards stadium seen in background. Crowds towards camera, along new road towards Stadium unseen. Elevated shots crowds inside Stadium, singing Abide with Me. Cut-in conductor on rostrum. Elevated shot crowds. King walks onto pitch. Singing of National Anthem. Crowds. King shakes hands with Johnny Carey (Manchester United) and with rest of team, not all shown. King shakes hands with Johnson (Blackpool), and rest of team, not all shown. Elevated shot - kick off by Manchester United. Blackpool attack. Elevated Stanley Matthews (No 7) dribbles with ball (2 shots). Elevated Matthews passes to Munro right in front of goal who miss-kicks. Stan Mortensen with ball is tripped. Shimwell takes penalty (slow motion) and scores, ball slips between goalie’s hands and body. Elevated GV play. Manchester United attack. Jack Rowley scores equaliser. Matthews dribbling. CU player falls on ground with Matthews’ leg wrapped round his, the former handles ball. Matthews takes free kick passes to Munro who passes onto Mortensen who scores. Cut-in King watching. Cut-in Duke of Edinburgh watching. Elevated kick off half time. At half time Blackpool were leading 2-1. Cut-in individuals watch game, sorrowful, happy, suspense, frowning, all types. Crosland (No 3) Blackpool tackling players. Free kick for Manchester, followed by Jack Rowley scoring. Pearson (Manchester United) dribbles through and scores - 3-2. Players congratulate him. Cut-in crowd, man looks miserable. Johnny Anderson scores makes it 4-2. Cut-in child in crowd wiping his eyes. Carey walks up to Royal Box to receive Cup, shakes hands etc. GV Manchester United Captain with Cup passes Mr and Mrs Attlee, Ernest Bevin and Sir Stafford Cripps in Royal Box. Blackpool players go up to receive medals. Manchester United team walks across pitch with Cup. Carey says a few words pleased to take Cup back to Manchester after a period of 40 years.
