MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: National Film Festival 1949. DESCRIPTION: Many film stars attended the Daily Mail British Film Festival at the Odeon Leicester Square. Among those present were Michele Morgan, Sheila Sim, John Mills, Robert Donat, and Margaret Lockwood. Stars acted a few flashbacks from the qualifying films. SHOTLIST: CUT STORY: KS GV Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square. MS ditto. People arriving at Odeon. Inside foyer, arrivals, Michele Morgan, Sally Gray. Chips Rafferty, Patricia Roc, Jean Simmons. SCU Margaret Lockwood & John Mills they talk about their acting. CU Herbert Wilcox speaks about winning for third year running, calls Anna Neagle & Michael Wilding who come into picture. SCU of both. Leslie Mitchell interviews John Howard Davies, the child in Oliver Twist & Maurice Denham. Stage curtain swings open exposing newsreel title. SCU Jack Warner, Petula Clark & Kathleen Harrison re-enact a part from Here Come the Huggetts. SCU Margaret Leighton & Robert Donat re-enact part from Winslow Boy. Ronald Reagan introduces Margaret Lockwood & John Mills to audience. MS grand parade of stars on stage for finale.
