- This review of events leading up to victory in Europe is dedicated to those who made it possible, with appropriate footage of each: newscasters and broadcasters, cameramen, sailors and marines, merchant marines, minesweepers, submariners, fighting men, the Commonwealth, the Red Army, Desert Rats, General Smuts, Mr Churchill, Allied Air Forces, United States Air Force, nurses and doctors, women of the armed services, women railway workers, tree fellers, workers in arms factories, transport and dockyard workers, the Home Guard, the King and Queen (seen inspecting bomb damage), Chiang Kai-shek, Stalin, Roosevelt. Attention turns to the men still at war in the Pacific, the conditions under which they are fighting, the wounded and the bravery of the Chinese people - pictures taken at the bombing of Canton.
