- Summary
- Men of the Australian Eighth Division, former prisoners in Singapore, are repatriated by air transport. Arriving in Sydney, some are united with their families. 50,000 people cheer them as they arrive. Changi prison camp, Singapore: interior shots of the camp - dirty kitchen utensils, skeleton-like men. We see how the prisoners managed to make sandals from scrap, tiny radio sets with which they listened to the BBC etc and which they hid in brooms and table legs.
