MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princesses Engagements’. DESCRIPTION: PRINCESS MARGARET IN BRISTOL - The Princess visits a Nurses Training School in Bristol. PRINCESS ELIZABETH AND THE DUKE ON MERSEYSIDE - The Royal couple open a new lock on the Mersey and later make a tour of Liverpool Cathedral. SHOTLIST: BRISTOL - KS Royal car draws up. Princess Margaret alights. Walks towards camera. Interior - nurses training, in bed making, generally looking after patients etc. Nurse pours out medicine. Exterior - MS nurses training caravan. CU Princess Margaret. LIVERPOOL - Princess Elizabeth & Duke of Edinburgh shake hands with officials. Board tender "Galatea". MS of both on bridge. Cut-in ferryboat "J Farley" crowded with cheering people. Tender approaches dock entrance & breaks ribbon across dock. GV Liverpool Cathedral. Royal couple mount steps of Cathedral. Princess takes key of Cathedral from kneeling choirboy, Jeffrey Holiday. MS two choirboys opening door after Princess has turned the key. Elevated GV looking down on royal couple inside Cathedral. MS stained glass window of King George V & Queen Mary. Royal couple down steps outside. GV cheering crowds.
