MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Colliery Swimming Gala. DESCRIPTION: At Dawdon Colliery the local miners held a Gala which included swimming, diving and a bathing beauty display. SHOTLIST: KS. GV swimming pool with colliery in background. Various shots of swimming events & water polo. Cut-in SCU Mr Watson, new Labour Party Chairman. Cut-in pit workers looking on. Several shots of mannequin parade, also one girl, namely Miss Eileen Hebson in a very abbreviated swim suit - bikini. Cut-in of crowds husbands with their wives, the wives pulling caps over their husbands heads.
