DESCRIPTION: New Guinea natives assemble from the hills for a very special ceremony - a visit from the Governor-General of Australia. These highlanders are among the most backward of New Guinea’s tribes and many have never set eyes on a white man before. SHOTLIST: GV of thousands of natives assembled to greet the Governor General. Governor’s plane lands & alights, formal greeting by white officials & chieftains of the tribes. Interpreter, speaks pidgin English, for Governor & chieftain, cut-ins of chieftain addressing Governor. CU types in full dress make-up. All the tribes put on "sing-song", various shots of same covered in sound - very good. SCU & CU chieftain speaking.
