Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Arnhem Anniversary. DESCRIPTION: At Arnhem the people of Holland and the relatives of the fallen joined with the survivors, to pay homage to the men who lost their lives. SHOTLIST: KS. GV graveyard. LIBRARY - Aerial shot gliders & parachutists descending to ground on Arnhem. Several shots of same. Parachutists march along road past wrecked car, dead bodies. Burning gliders etc. on ground. GV cemetery, GV large memorial. Crowds gathered around same. Brigadier Hacket (4th Parachute Brigade) lays wreath. Hundreds of flowers around memorial. Procession carrying flags, banners etc. march through streets. In cemetery, services held by catholics & protestants. CU trumpeter sounding Last Post (silent). GV Dutch children standing beside British graves, all holding flowers & placing same on simultaneously. SCU grave. CU cross on grave.
