MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Duke Goes Back to Sea. DESCRIPTION: The Duke of Edinburgh leaves Heathrow Airport for Malta, where he is to take up command of the destroyer Chequers. Walks through grounds with other officers at Greenwich Naval College. Taken lesson in classroom. At Horsham, explaining map, and classwork etc. Line of destroyers, same class as "Chequers", but not the "Chequers". MS "Consort". Heathrow, Duke in civvies leaves, boards plane with Countess Mountbatten and Lady Pamela Mountbatten. Viking plane taxies across aerodrome & takes off. GV Malta - library.
