Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Lord Mayor’s Show Incident. DESCRIPTION: The Lord Mayor’s Show, which was held in pouring rain, also had to contend with a rare accident, the retiring Lord Mayor’s coach mounted the pavement and finished amid the crowds after the leading horse had bolted. SHOTLIST: Sir Frederick Rowland enters his coach at Guildhall. Elevated GV of old Lord Mayor’s coach accident, horses in crowds. Crowds line street in heavy rain. Theme was "Transport Through the Ages". Coachman sounds his horn-natural sound. All types of transport represented, old horse buses, steam vehicles, etc. Troops marching through streets, led by naval bands & RAF bands. At Law Courts, new Lord Mayor Sir Frederick Rowland enters.
