Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: London Greets the Amethyst Men. DESCRIPTION: Marching through London, which was enveloped in fog, the crew of the frigate Amethyst were going to the Guildhall where they had been invited by the Lord Mayor in recognition of their recent deeds. SHOTLIST: KS. MS marching sailors. Various marching shots of crew from Horse Guards Parade to St Martins, then onto Guildhall. MS officers: Commander Kerens. Commodore Cazalet & Commander Robertson lead column. Cut-ins of crowds. Various trucking shots including that of the band, Royal Marines. Wounded also amongst men, included Leading Seaman Williams. Sir Frederick Rowland, new Lord Mayor inspects men. Also present Viscount Hall & Mr Attlee. SCU Flight Lieutenant Fearnley. Crew march into Guildhall.
