Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Last of the Implacable. DESCRIPTION: The old Implacable’s last took her out from Portsmouth past her modern namesake, the 23,000 ton aircraft carrier. Escorted by warship and accorded full honours, she’s been sunk in the Channel. SHOTLIST: KS. SCU White Ensign. GV "Implacable". GV of aircraft carrier "Implacable". Various shots of old "Implacable" being towed out to sea. Library - Cut-in shot of the "Wooden Wall" - Trafalgar Ships. Aboard escorting warships, guests include Admiral McGrigor. Time signal hoisted. Buglers sound the signal (warning). CU button being punched. GV "Implacable" & explosion. "Implacable" slowly sinking, various shots. "Implacable" awash.
