Summary

MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Welcome 1950. DESCRIPTION: The New Year is welcomed in time honoured fashion on both sides of the Atlantic. SHOTLIST: New York night club scenes people drinking, champagne bottles being uncorked. Scotland - Interior - Scottish family drinking whisky & toasting. London - Scenes in Piccadilly Circus, shows crowds dancing & singing. At the Royal Albert Hall, crowds watch parade before twelve. Thousands of balloons descend from ceiling at twelve o’clock.
