- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Exchange Carillon Rings Again. DESCRIPTION: With the dignity characteristic of all City ceremonies, the Lord Mayor of London (Sir Frederick Rowland) has inaugurated the new chimes at the Royal Exchange. It was the first time the Carillon had been heard for ten years. SHOTLIST: KS. GV tower of Royal Exchange. Lord Mayor in procession walks from Mansion House to Royal Exchange. On steps, Lord Mayor asks his daughter to press button to set carillon in motion. Various shots - cut-ins of mechanism of the carillon, shows hammers of bells, the drum (similar to musical box), automatic ropes working by electricity. GV of tower of Royal Exchange to finish. Bells are playing "Rule Britannia". GOOD SCENES:- GVs of Royal Exchange in scaffolding. GV tower of Royal Exchange. GV Royal Exchange with traffic in fore. GV Royal Exchange with traffic passing in front of same. GV & SCU Tower of London.
