Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Australian Freak Weather. DESCRIPTION: At Sydney, a terrific gale damaged boats in the harbour, at one place alone yachts and launches to the value of £15,000 were completely written off. Two days later the Sydney beaches were crowded with holidaymakers, all trying to keep cool during the heatwave. SHOTLIST: KS. Waves break over harbour. Various shots of waves breaking over esplanade. Small craft, yachts, etc. being battered by the raging seas, some sunk, others broken to match-wood. Various shots of same. SLIP-PAN. Elevated GV of people basking on beach, various MS of people, others swimming, water skiing, surf-skiing, & just bathing. Cut-in of two girls seated on rock talking about a boyfriend.
