- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Jubilee of Ladysmith. DESCRIPTION: To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the relief of Ladysmith, they staged a march-past at the Town Hall. There was a great gathering of old veterans of the siege. At the municipal banquet one honoured guest was ex-bugler Hawksbee, now a Chelsea Pensioner, who had come out from England for the celebrations. SHOTLIST: KS. GV elevated shot of Ladysmith. Aerial ditto. MS stone commemorating where Churchill was captured. GV culvert & farm. Veterans inspects same, train passes in background. Veterans at Colenso monument. Stone memorial to Lt Roberts. Cemetery at Chievely. Map of South Africa. Elevated pan of Ladysmith. Troops march past Town Hall at Ladysmith, with veterans looking on, standing near old gun. CU old lady. Interior - veterans entertained to dinner, pan of same stopping on old Chelsea Pensioner. CU ditto. Exterior Chelsea Pensioner walks across aerodrome to plane. Plane takes off & in flight. Aerial of the countryside over which the siege took place, this being Ladysmith & Spion Kop, memorial can be picked out quite easily.
