MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Palestine 2,000 Guineas Victory. DESCRIPTION: At Newmarket, conditions were almost ideal for the running of 2,000 Guineas. A thrilling battle was anticipated between Masked Light, Prince Simon, the favourite, The Golden Road ridden by Gordon Richards, and the Aga Khan’s Palestine. After a photo-finish it was seen that Palestine had beaten Prince Simon by a short head. SHOTLIST: KS. Horse passes camera. GV of grandstand & crowds, bookies, etc. Paddock scenes, shows "Masked Light" "Prince Simon", "The Golden Road" with Gordon Richard mounting. Cut-in Aly Khan with broken leg watching. SCU "Palestine". MS & GV of start. "Golden Road" in lead. Trucking shot of race & "Palestine" & "Prince Simon" fighting to the finish. Photo finish shows "Palestine" winner. Aly Khan in wheel chair the owner looks pleased. "Palestine" led in. CU "Prince Simon" nodding his head.
