- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Trooping the Colour. DESCRIPTION: A beautiful summer day for the greatest of military spectacles - Trooping the Colour on Horse Guards Parade. Princess Margaret accompanied the Queen, and, to avoid undue strain, His Majesty drove to the ceremony instead of riding. The Escort for the Colour, this year, was found by the 3rd Battalion, the Coldstream Guards; it was, in fact, the year for the Grenadiers, but as the Coldstreamers are celebrating the 300th anniversary of their foundation, they had the honour. SHOTLIST: KS. GV parade. Elevated GV "L" shape guards paraded. GVs landau arrives carrying Queen Elizabeth & Princess Margaret. Panning shot ditto. Elevated GV King in open landau arrives on ground. Landau halts King stands up & salutes. Various shots of King in landau inspects Guards (Coldstream). Elevated GV of massed bands counter marching. Queen, Princess Margaret and Queen Mary watch from window. Various shot counter marching. Colour being handed over to escort. SCU of same. Guards march & halt to command. CU presenting arms. Several shots marchpast of guards. Household Cavalry ride past on horseback. Several shots of Household Cavalry & their band. Elevated GV of parade leaving Horse Guards Parade. Down Mall into camera. CU Prince Charles with nanny watching procession & MS as Prince beats time with his arms. Elevated GV procession turning out of Mall. Cut-in King taking salute outside Buckingham Palace, from rostrum. GV & SCU Royal Family on balcony of Palace, including Queen Mary. Lincoln (18) bombers fly overhead, cut-in Royal Family looking up at bombers. Cut-in - close-up of Guards officer shouting out orders: "Colour Escort Present Arms", "Guards by the centre, Slow March".
