- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King’s Cup Air Race. DESCRIPTION: Thirty-six competitors took part in the Kings Cup Air Race at Wolverhampton, they included Princess Margaret’s Hurricane, flown by Group Captain Peter Townsend. Though greatly handicapped, he failed by only sixty yards to catch Mr Day’s Miles-Hawk Trainer. SHOTLIST: KS. SCU mechanic looking over engine of plane. Elevated GV of planes dotted about aerodrome, also crowds. Cut-in of starter with stop watch, signalling away machine one after the other. "Last of the Many" Hurricane owned by Princess Margaret takes off. Pilot is Group Captain Peter Townsend. CU nose of plane. Elevated shots of plane circling round at speed. Miles Hawk Trainer plane just beat the Hurricane, seen landing. MS Mr Day seated in winning plane. Cup presented to Mr Day. CU champagne poured into Cup.
