MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: America Captures Speedboat Record. DESCRIPTION: At Seattle, the speedboat Slo-Mo-Shun IV piloted by 53 year old Stanley Sayres makes an attempt to break Sir Malcolm Campbell’s record of 147 mph. Two runs over the measured mile gave him an average speed of just over 160 mph which, subject to confirmation, is a new world record. SHOTLIST: Several shots of the speed boat "Slo-Mo-Shun" speeding along the lake (two-runs), various cut-ins being timed, etc. SCU of speedboat, with driver in seat, Stanley Sayres.
