DESCRIPTION: Florence Chadwick of America has set a new Woman’s Record for swimming the Channel, but her compatriot, Shirley May France, failed in her attempt. SHOTLIST: KS. CU person swimming. Elevated GV of Miss Florence Chadwick swimming towards shore of St Margaret’s Bay & walking out of water. Cut-ins of crowds watching her from cliff tops. Chadwick climbs into boat. Chadwick from French coast walks in & swims about in water. CU of her with father, speech by Miss Chadwick. Library - Miss Shirley May France swimming - several shots. Launch approaches shore.
