- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mystery of the Batory. DESCRIPTION: When the 14,000 Polish liner Batory reached Southampton from New York, she brought with her the mystery of two unscheduled passengers. One had been picked up from a seaplane 75 miles out of New York. The other was Howard Campbell, a stowaway. They were taken ashore by detectives and held under the Aliens’ Order. SHOTLIST: KS. MS "Batory". "Batory" coming into dock. SCU of her name, on bows. Ship alongside dock, seaplane being unloaded. William Newton walked (escorted by CID) along quay to Black Maria. Howard Campbell also escorted to police van, Black Maria drives off, past & out of camera.
