- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Korea - Air Blitz Checks Reds. DESCRIPTION: AIR BLITZ CHECKS REDS - Air power is beginning to exert its full influence in Korea. With a Superfortress raid goes a cameraman, photographing the plastering of the build-up of Communist forces for the assault on Taegu. It was the most concentrated air offensive since Normandy. A Red ship is strafed, and all along the coast, American, British and Australian fliers pound the enemy. Another target is Wonsan, with its oil refineries. MARINES ARE READY - Members of the Marine Commando, which is to be flown direct from Britain to Korea, complete their preparations. This includes a final tuning-up. A rock face is no greater barrier to a Marine than a surging river. SHOTLIST: KS. GIs in fore with B29s on tarmac in background. Several shots Superfortresses on runway, take-off, aerials of B29s in formations. Shots taken from one of B29s. Bombing a target. Inside shot of plane with bomb aimer at his post. Assault on Taegu, aerial same. Heavy bombing on same. Aerial (taken from plane) of strafing targets, transport on roads, ships, transport on rail. Aerial of oil refinery at Wonsan, bombing of same & same burning black smoke rising from same. British Marines - MS Lt Colonel Drysdale with other officers looking at map. Royal Marines in training, training over ragged rocks & crossing rivers. Marines collect their kit.
