- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Duke’s First Command. DESCRIPTION: HMS Liverpool, Glory and Euryalus were at Malta, when command of the sloop Magpie was assumed by the Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness had recently been promoted Lieutenant-Commander. On board he was greeted by Lieutenant-Commander Harper, from who he was taking over. SHOTLIST: KS. Elevated GV Malta Harbour. Ships in harbour line ahead, "Liverpool", "Glory" & "Euryalus". Naval launch makes for "Magpie". CU name "Magpie" on bow of sloop. Duke of Edinburgh. SCU Duke with Lt Commander Harper. Lt Commander Harper leaves "Magpie" & is rowed ashore, shots of same being rowed ashore.
