Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Creswell Colliery Disaster. DESCRIPTION: Once again tragedy overtakes the coalfields. At Creswell Colliery, near Worksop, fire mysteriously broke out a thousand feet below the surface when 180 men were at work. In spite of valiant efforts by rescue teams, eighty miners were still trapped behind the wall of flame. SHOTLIST: KS. Miners & rescuers pass camera. Aerial of Creswell Pithead, several shots. Ground shots crowds, some reading notices, others filling sandbags. Dusk shot crowds at service being held at pithead.
