MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ex-Service Patients Take Up Archery. DESCRIPTION: At Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire, ex-service patients and others competing in the nationwide Black Rose Competition, showed remarkable skill, several of them hitting the miniature Rose bang in the centre of the target. Special prizes offered for the hospital competition were presented by Mr Marquand, Minister of Pensions. SHOTLIST: KS. CU target with black rose in bull. Various shots of patients in wheel chairs taking aim & shooting arrows at targets. CU targets arrows entering same. Mr Marquand, Minister of Pensions presents first prize to Jesse Cox, a steel bow & set of arrows.
