Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Churchill Sums Up at Blackpool. DESCRIPTION: The arrival of Mr Churchill at Winter Gardens, Blackpool was the signal for a big rush by spectators and for a great outburst of enthusiasm from seven thousand supporters within the hall. In his speech, he dwelt on the rising cost of living. SHOTLIST: KS. Elevated GV Churchill’s car arrive back entrance of Winter Gardens, crowds swarm around same. Churchill alights. Interior - crowds applaud him as he takes the platform. Pan of audience applauding. Churchill speaks on cost of living, housing, finishes by saying we need to make one more heave, amid much applause & laughter. Pan of applauding crowds. Finish on Churchill & everybody standing, former gives ‘V’ sign.
