MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: British Film Academy Awards. DESCRIPTION: The presentation of this year’s British Film Academy Awards was made at the Odeon, Leicester Square; and it was attended by a number of stars and personalities of screen and studio. Lord Mountbatten addressed the assembly and later presented the certificates. SHOTLIST: Cut story - Various stars & celebrities arrive, including Audrey Hepburn. Cecil Parker, pass through foyer of cinema. Interior - on stage - Roger Manvell, Sir Michael Balcon, Basil Dearden & Bonar Colleano, in group. At other table. Cameron, Shaw, J Arthur Rank & Lord Mountbatten. SCU statuettes. Mountbatten addresses audience. Makes various presentations to the winners with Susan Shaw & Ronald Neame assisting him. Tyrone Power receives Award for All about Eve from Mountbatten. Power makes speech on behalf of Twentieth Century Fox.
