Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: England’s 2 - 1 Victory Over Argentina. DESCRIPTION: A record crowd (for a mid-week match) at Wembley, saw England beat Argentina in the Festival International. The Argentines scored first soon after the start and although England pressed hard, they could not beat the visiting goalie, Rugilo, until near the end of the game when Mortensen and Milburn scored. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Teams walk onto field. Toss-up, Argentina captain gesticulating. MS Argentina kick-off. No 11 Loustau down left wing, centres. No 7 Finney dribbling. England attack, Mortensen shoots at goal, Rugilo - goalie makes good save, falling on his stomach. Argentina player shakes his hand. England attack, Rugilo attempts to save finishes up swinging on crossbar of goal. Argentina attack & score by outside right. Embraces etc. Crowd cheering. England kick-off, Rugilo again saving, lying on his back having his stomach rubbed with oils. Finney takes corner kick & Mortensen scores with a header. Crowds cheering, embraces. England attack, Ramsey takes free kick, and a splendid goal scores by Milburn.
