- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: SS United States Christened. DESCRIPTION: American’s biggest and fastest liner is christened by Senator Tom Connally’s wife. Built almost entirely of steel and aluminium alloys, the 51,500 ton vessel cost about twenty-five million pounds. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV of ship in water. MS of her in dry dock.
