Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Rescuing a Heavyweight (Hippo). DESCRIPTION: On a South African Farm, recently, they rescued a 3 ton Hippopotamus from their reservoir. With the aid of a gigantic landing-net of steel cable, they hauled him out and then took him by truck some 300 miles to the Loskop Nature Reserve. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS reservoir with hippo in same. GV reservoir - muddy. Hippopotamus just shows his head above water. Various shots after draining a lot of water out, of wire netting being placed in same, & making several attempts to rescue the hippo. SCU of hippo in netting, opening his mouth. Hippo in crate. Optical - van drives away across country. GV lake - Loskop Nature Reserve, van draws up & hippo released, hippo enters water.
