- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Air Exercise Pinnacle. DESCRIPTION: Exercise Pinnacle is the biggest test of Britain’s air defences held since the war. Mock attacks have been carried out on different areas by night and day in a full scale peace-time battle that has been fought out over many days. American Sabre jets and RAF Meteors formed part of the defence force. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. MS Washington (B29) Bomber warming up. Truck loads of bombs across aerodrome. Trucking shot from rear of trucks, ditto. Briefing crew of Washington (B29) bomber & climbing aboard. SCU cockpit & pilot giving thumps-up. Washington bomber takes off, several shots. CU badge on breast-pocket Royal Observer Corps. ROC men on roof watching skies & using instruments following planes. Interior - general work going on in Operation Room. aerodrome - Sabre Jets on aerodrome, crews scramble. CU pilot in cockpit giving OK. Taxi - taking off in pairs. Formation of eight over camera. Pilots of Meteors being briefed on aerodrome, climb aboard, OK giving. Meteors take off in twos. Interior - inside operation room, general activity. Meteors overhead, & peeling off. Attacking Lancaster Bombers, several air-to-air shots of same.
